A router finds a new home.

A friend once pointed out in regards to keeping a dog out of trouble:  “A dog needs a job”… well, I’m going to expand on this and say: “A man needs a tool” preferably, a POWER tool – or toolS, for that matter. I remember back in our early days when we were living in Brooklyn, N.Y., and revamping our kitchen; there was Greg, trying to saw through a piece of masonite perched atop a milk crate, with a hand saw. I stood by helplessly, watching his frustration mount. “Next… time… we… rent… power tools!” he yelled between each, ineffective, push and pull of the saw. Since then, there have been leaf blowers, jig saws, planers, circular saws, cordless drills, grinders, palm sanders, orbital sanders and now a router and table saw have just been added to the roster – a MUST have to build 10 bathroom vanities and other ancillary items. Recently, he asked me if I thought we needed night vision goggles (!) “We’re going to live to Costa Rica” I reply  “not in a James Bond movie”. At some point, I need to reel him in.

Seriously, though, I am thrilled to finally see a real purpose for all these tools, since Greg is really going to be hands on with much of the finishing work. This is something he is very excited about… and THAT thrills me even more!

I love this! As the wife of a wood artist, you know I can understand the satisfaction that can be drawn from working with wood. And the right tools always make the job both easier and quicker.

yea, Toni. and, maybe that wood artist might come down and offer some of HIS expertise to the project – will he work for food?? 😉
